I love snow. I wish that we had snow every winter. I was thinking last night how many snows that really made memories for me. I remember when I was in the 5th grade and we lived in Rockingham NC. It never really snowed that much there because Rockingham is pretty far south. Well this year it snowed a big snow. We lived in town and there was a lot of neighborhood kids. We had a ball playing in the snow. One of the neighbor kids had a toboggan sled. Here are a few pictures from Rockingham.
The next snow that stands out in my mind was when I was 19 years old and I worked a Spring Mills in Biscoe NC. It snowed every Saturday for 3 weeks and it did not get warm enough during the week to melt any of the snow. The mill I worked at did not close for anything. I had to ride to work with my neighbor. I do not have any pictures from this snow.
The next memorable snow was in 2000 when we got 27 inches of snow. I would love to see one more snow like this before my lifetime is over.
The snow that came Tuesday night January 28 it was a tiny snow but I was really wanting to see a snow before winter leaves and spring comes.

ReplyDeleteI am so slack of having pictures ready to put on my blog. I had to look for over an hour for the Rockingham pictures. I have 6 boxes slam full of pictures and they are not organized. I will try to do better.
