Making memories....

I got to make some great memories on Veteran's Day. My two aunts, my dad's sisters came for a visit. They came an picked me up to have lunch with them. I am so sad that I forgot to take my camera along to capture the memories in pictures, but I do have the memories in my mind. You know now days you can capture everything on your camera, or on your phone. These things were not available when I was young so my memories are in my mind. We had a great lunch at the local restaurant that is owned by my husbands distant cousins. The special for the day was white flounder and it was yummy! We had great conversation remembering the times that we spent together when I was a child. My dad's family was always close and we got together often. We often all lived close together until my dad died. Now days we don't see each other very often, but I do cherish the times we do. I have spent a lot of time with both of these aunts when I was growing up and they have influence my life greatly. I really can not describe the love I have for them. When they drove up I was jumping up and down waving my arms just like a kid.

After lunch I took them to see the home place of their mama and my grandma. I live right here where my grandma grew up as a little girl. I showed them right across the end of my drive way is where one of my grandma's childhood friends lived. That she played with  and shared childhood memories with. This world seems so small sometimes.

I just wish I had some pictures to share but I don't.

  3. Wonderful times. When I would say I wish I had a camera, my mom would always tell me that I had my mind.
